Recording With Audigy 2 Platinum and MediaSource

Recording With Audigy 2 Platinum and MediaSource

  • Click the arrow next to the Recording button and select Show Recording Status.

  • You now see the following screen

  • Enable the Recording level meters. To do so, select the Enable Monitor tick box

  • If your recorded source is very dynamic, or has high levels, activate ARVL (Automatic Recording Volume Limiter) in order to avoid clipping/distortion

  • Select your recording source either Via the drop-down menu in the Recording Status display or use the arrow next to the REC button

  • Note: The What U Hear option will enable recording from all active (un-muted) sources.

  • The Analog Mix Option works similarly but only takes the following Sources into account: Line In, CD, Aux, TAD, PC Speaker.

  • Line In must be the actived. Other inputs included in Analog Mix should be muted.

  • To disable monitoring (sound from Line In while recording), the function Record Without Monitoring needs to be Enabled.

  • Firstly, click the "+" sign above the Analog Mix symbol

  • Secondly, select Record Without Monitoring

  • In this way you can disable sound from Line In during recording, as muting the input itself will deactivate it as a recording source.

  • The steps described above apply to all sources included in Analog Mix.

  • The Recording format has to be reset, either in the field in the Recording Status display or the arrow next to the REC button

  • Both options will bring up the same dialogue box

  • Once the recording format has been set, the recording can be started by clicking the REC button.

  • To end the recording, click on the Stop button.

  • This brings up the Edit Recording Information Dialogue.

  • Once the details have been edited and the path to the desired directory has been set, the file can be saved by clicking the Save button.
